MBADC American Idol
Armchair Quarterback 2006, Season 5 (Week 4)
American Idol, from
the perspective of someone who's booked artists at the national-level: who we like in the
competition, what works, what doesn't work, what contestants can do to improve
their chances of success, and advice you can apply to your own career.
Week Four Auditions
Episode airing Tuesday,
February 7, 2006 (Boston, MA)
Based on the auditions from tonight's episode, vocally we like Kevin
Covais (hometown: Levittown, NY). We like Kevin's nice timing and tone.
Watching how he fares in the competition should be interesting.
Tatiana Ward (hometown: Hatfield, PA) is also good, but poor song
selection almost killed her chances. We like her because she has a striking
voice and a striking look. If she gets her song selection together she might
make it into the top 12.
Also interesting:
Ayla Brown (hometown: Wrentham, MA). We like her tone and style, but
agree that her stage presence and expression need work. She could probably
make a very good living singing commercial jingles, however.
Ryan Seacrest Smart Quip of the Night: None, but nice save on that
lamp in the "Bad Day" montage. And we love that Seacrest is a good sport.
