Steve Irwin, aka The Crocodile Hunter”
(1962-2006)
When someone dies suddenly, it’s tragic. When someone dies doing what they
loved, even though they’re leaving behind loved ones, it’s a little less
sad, and it’s easier to look back fondly on their life…And to remember their
passion for it.
We didn’t know
Crocodile
Hunter Steve Irwin, but we loved his TV shows and talk show
appearances. His public appeal was largely due to his obvious passion for
the animals he worked with and protected during the course of his career,
and it was catching. Watching Steve Irwin hardly be able to contain his
enthusiasm for each animal was entertaining, as well as infectious: he gave
even some of the world’s scaliest, creepiest creatures a booming endorsement
and preached their respect. Whether you agreed with his methods or not,
Steve Irwin made you listen…more often than not, a smile, or even a hearty
belly laugh.
Anyone who can do all that is truly cool.
