Kudisan Kai
This Howard
University alumna has recorded and toured with Chaka Khan, Beck, Sting,
Elton John, Bette Midler, Mary J. Blige, Saliva, Diana Ross, Natalie Cole,
Anita Baker, George Duke, Glen Ballard, Arif Mardin, and many more. She has
been awarded The Best Jazz Vocalist Award from Downbeat magazine, and
performed on one of Elton John’s platinum recordings, earning her a platinum
record plaque for her contribution. She has appeared on Oprah,
Rosie O’Donnell, The Today Show, MTV’s TRL, and the
Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
Kudisan has lent
her talents to many television and radio commercials and films. She can be
heard on the soundtracks of El Dorado (Dreamworks,) Dinosaurs
(Disney,) Ali, and Dark Blue (John Singleton.) Though she
sings many styles, Kudisan, who also teaches in the Voice Department at
Berklee College of Music, has recently released her own Hard Rock EP
entitled Confessions.
