MusicBizAdvice.com Taps Darcie Wicknick for Managing Editor for MBADC Women's Music Industry Workshop Website

Burbank, CA--Darcie-Nicole Wicknick is the new Managing Editor for the new MBADC Women's Music Industry Workshop website, which relaunches at http://mbadc.tripod.com/ in January, MusicBizAdvice.com announced today. Wicknick, an independent music business consultant, is the founder of "...Ask Darcie", an music business consultation firm specializing in artist publicity. She has been writing for MusicBizAdvice.com's main site for two years.

"Darcie is great for the MBADC Women's Music Industry Workshop," says MusicBizAdvice.com Founder / Editor-in-Chief Randi Reed, who also owns the MBADC Women's Music Industry Workshop. "Her ideas are fresh and innovative, and she knows her stuff businesswise. Plus as an artist, she has a great sense of what readers are interested in--and for us, it's all about the reader. The MBADC Women's Music Industry Workshop will be in great hands."

Says Wicknick, "I was really honored when Randi asked me to be Managing Editor for the MBADC Women's Music Industry Workshop branch of MusicBizAdvice.com...My personal hope for the WMIW is that it will offer diverse perspectives for women (and men) in the music industry. We're aiming for this site to serve as an outstanding resource with content for all. If we broaden cultural and social horizons in the process, even better."

The MBADC Women's Music Industry Workshop is an online magazine highlighting issues of interest to women in the music business, such as sexual harassment. But that doesn't mean anti-male. "We want guys read the site, and we want them to feel welcome," says Reed. "Male-bashing is just as bad as chauvinism, in our opinion, so you won't see it here. But we're not about stereotypical female content, either. We have a saying in meetings: 'this ain't no shoe site!' We like shoes, but we do it on our own time."

The MBADC Women's Music Industry Workshop launches on January 1 at http://mbadc.tripod.com/. It was formerly an iVillage site.

About Darcie-Nicole Wicknick: Darcie-Nicole Wicknick, founder of "...Ask Darcie", a music business consulting firm, has been a freelance writer for MusicBizAdvice.com's main site, MusicBizAdvice.com, since 2003. A graduate of the Berklee College of Music, Darcie is also an R&B and Gospel artist.

About MusicBizAdvice.com: MusicBizAdvice.com is an online magazine published by music industry professionals experienced in booking, artist management, and concert promotion at the national level. It is read in 66 countries worldwide and debuted in 1999, moving to its permanent URL in 2003.
