COSMETIC SURGERY FOR MEN
MBADC: Are you seeing an increase in the number of your male patients?
BA: Absolutely
Every year theres I would say about a ten percent
increase per year in the number of men. Theres also an increase in the entire
population. But men definitely are increasing in number. Still, the majority of the
patients are women.
MBADC: When men come in, what types of procedures are they looking for, or what
types of problems are they coming in with?
BA: Younger men generally come in for rhinoplasty. The older men generally come
in for the laugh lines and the eye region, because they look tired, they have puffy eyes,
and they want to improve their eyelids and they want to rejuvenate. Very few want
facelifts or more aggressive procedures. The three most common operations that we do are
rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, which is the eyelid rejuvenation, and the cheek lift for the
laugh lines.
MBADC: Is the downtime any different for a guy?
BA: No. It all depends on the surgery, and some people bruise more than others,
whether men or women.
