DIVIDENDS FROM SALES OF BLANK MEDIA
After years of litigation in the 1980s, The RIAA (Recording Industry
Association of America) deemed that writers are entitled to a share of blank media sold at
retail because people dub tapes and CDs at home, thus creating loss of income for
songwriters. They are also distributed as a dividend on a quarterly basis by your
Performance Rights Society affiliate.
