Facial Plastic Surgery and Its Effects on the
Voice with Babak Azizzadeh, MD
Dr. Azizzadeh is a Board Certified, Harvard trained Facial Plastic Surgeon,
specializing exclusively in facial plastic surgery. As a clinical faculty of the UCLA
School of Medicine, Dr. Azizzadeh is actively involved in teaching facial plastic surgery
to residents and medical students. In addition to his busy surgical practice, Dr.
Azizzadeh has also been actively involved in several humanitarian causes such as the
Medical Missions for Children (MMFC) and the R.O.S.E. Fund (Regaining One’s
Self-esteem), a national non-profit organization committed to ending violence against
women and children by assisting survivors in regaining their self-esteem. He has operated

PACKING VS NO PACKING IN RHINOPLASTY
MBADC: I was reading your website, and I noticed there’s no packing involved
now? That’s amazing!
BA: Yes. I mean, there are many doctors that do use that packing, and many
doctors that don’t. But over the last two years, I’ve changed—I used to use
packing, but over the past two years I’ve stopped using packing, and I’ve had
really no problems with it. And the patients feel so much better.
MBADC: That would be my biggest fear, I would think.
BA: I had rhinoplasty myself when I was much younger, and that packing was the
worst thing I have ever gone through in my life. So, I’m sensitive to the patients
with regard to the packing.
