Pat Benatar

from Page 2
After years of creative battles with Chrysalis--and the practically non-existent promotion
of her last studio album on Chrysalis, 1993's "Gravity's Rainbow"--Benatar split
from the label and released Innamorata on CMC International in 1997. Presenting a softer
style, it's one of the most intimate Benatar albums, as well as lyrically powerful--as
with the single "Strawberry Wine (Life is Sweet)." It was followed a year later
by 8-15-80.
In October 1999, Benatar released a 3-disk
set, "Synchronistic Wanderings: Recorded Anthology 1979-1999," which contains
rare performances such as studio outtakes and previously unreleased recordings, as well as
well-known Benatar standards. |
The
extensive, oftentimes humorous liner notes make this a must-buy for any Benatar fan, or
for that matter, anyone with an interest in reading about a 20-year career progression
from the artists' points-of-view. Benatar's and Giraldo's bond clearly shines through as
they talk about each track.
Pat Benatar's most recent album, Go, was released in August, 2003 and is available in
stores now. She and Neil Giraldo have two daughters, Haley and Hana.Discography
