Romantic Dinner for Two
Honey-Glazed Cornish Game Hens 4 generous servings

2 20-oz game hens, washed, patted dry, neck and giblets removed. Each hen provides 2 small
servings. For presentation, make one hen per person.

1/2 cup butter, melted

1/2 cup honey
-
1/4 cup whole grain mustard
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
1 teaspoon curry powder
Line roasting pan with foil. Place hens breast side up on rack in roasting pan. Set aside
while oven heats to 350 degrees F. Meanwhile, combine butter, honey, mustard (orange
juice?), salt, and curry powder, mixing well. Pour half the mixture over hens, bake at 350
degrees F, basting with remaining mixture every 20 minutes, until thermometer inserted in
thickest part of thigh (not touching bone) reads 165 degrees F (approximately 40-60
minutes cooking time).
Creative option: Substitute 1/4 c orange juice for mustard (it will not
mix completely).
Asparagus

1 bunch asparagus, washed, tough ends removed by snapping off at the point where they
breaks off naturally

2 T butter, melted, OR approx. 1 1/2 teaspoons olive oil for drizzling

1/8 teaspoon Fleur de Sel sea salt
To Boil: Fill a 3-quart saucepan 1/2 full with water, bring to boil. Add asparagus, boil
uncovered 5-6 minutes until bright green and tender. Drain, drizzle with melted butter or
olive oil, sprinkle with Fleur de Sel,serve.
or
To steam: Steam in steamer 5-6 minutes, until bright green and tender. Drizzle with melted
butter or olive oil, sprinkle with sea salt, serve.
Couscous For 2

2 Tablespoons slivered almonds

1/8 cup to 1 1/2 cups chicken stock (amount called for on couscous package)

3/4 teaspoon ground cumin
-
1/8 teaspoon salt, or to taste
-
few grinds of fresh black pepper

1/2 cup couscous (3-5 minute variety, unseasoned)

2 Tablespoons currants
Lay out a double layer of paper toweling on a plate, set aside. In 2qt saucepan, toast
nuts over medium heat until lightly browned and nutty smelling. (They go fast, so watch
carefully.) Pour out onto paper towel to cool. In same saucepan, bring chicken stock to
boil with cumin, salt, and pepper. Simmer 30 seconds. Stir in couscous and currants,
remove from heat, cover, and set aside 3-5 minutes or until liquid is absorbed.
Add almonds, fluff with fork, serve. Serves 2.
Creative Options: Use 2 Tablespoons pinenuts or chopped pistachios
instead of slivered almonds. Or try raisins instead of currants.
Classic Champagne Cocktail
1 serving
For each serving, drop a sugar cube in a well-chilled champagne glass. Sprinkle with 2-3
dashes Angostura bitters. Top with champagne and garnish with a twist of lemon.
Passionate Cloud

Warning: This seemingly innocent drink can cause a lethal hangover. We recommend not
combining it with any other alcohol or dessert.

Cracked ice

1 oz white Creme de Cocao

1 oz Alize Red Passion

1 oz cream or half and half

Garnish: drink skewer speared with a raspberry or strawberry
In cocktail shaker, shake white Creme de Cocao, Alize, and cream with cracked ice; strain
into a well-chilled chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a drink skewer speared with a
raspberry or strawberry.
Passionate Something-Or-Other Shooter

The actual name of this drink is too X-Rated to print, but we're sure you'll do a great
job of figuring it out.
Pour Alize into a shot glass, pour in vodka, top with whipped cream. Drink without using
your hands.
