December 2003 Talent Agent Scott Pang
Scott Pang has worked in the music industry for 24
years and has been an agent at both ICM and William Morris. Artists he’s worked with
over the years include Rod Stewart, Barry Manilow, Diane Reeves, David Lee Roth, and many
others. Scott Pang was also the director of touring for the Ice Capades and Harlem
Globetrotters. Currently he is an agent at ICM.
MBADC: Describe your role when an artist is not touring.
SP: When an artist is not on the road, in a traditional sense, they’re
generally working on an album. The agent is always on the lookout for monetary
opportunities for an act that’s not on the road. Private parties, special events, or
if the act expresses a desire to do other things--i.e., commercials, film, television
work--an agent’s always on the lookout for those types of roles and those types of
opportunities.
MBADC: If an artist has been around awhile and wants to write a book, does ICM
handle that as well?
SP: Yes. We will handle that.
